January is closing its chapter, and what a start to 2023 it has been! Especially in terms of sneaker releases, leading brands have outshone the offerings from the holiday season with their newest silhouettes. Team adidas seems to lead the list with their ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ and adidas Summon power creation this time! We present the Best footwear drops that made it to the Jan 2023 roster from brands like adidas, Nike and Jordan Brand, ASICS , PUMA Salomon.
Let’s recall the last haul!
New month, new releases. But that also calls for a recap from the last! Our favourite Nike maintained a hush-hush week, but the rumours of a Kobe 6 “Reverse Grinch” general release had been making some air. Besides, the Swoosh introduced the ISPA line of slip-on silhouettes – the ISPA Universal. The team further gave us a glimpse of their unconventional V-day offering, a “Yellow Heart” Dunk Low.
As for its Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” and the new Air Jordan 11 “DMP” are returning this year. Furthermore, we got the first glimpse at the new Air Jordan 1 High OG “Washed Pink” and an on-foot representation of the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green.”
Additional in-line offerings from the brand include Roger Federer’s former signature sneaker, which arrived with the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour AJ3 donning “Racer Blue.” Besides, the Jordan Brand is on the run to make 2023 its year with a Notorious B.I.G. x Air Jordan 13 auction hosted by Sotheby’s.
In other news, 3D-printed footwear is still making waves thanks to the creation of the RAINS Puffer Boot in partnership with Zellerfeld and the creation of 3D-printed derbies and boots by renowned fashion house Dior. After revealing the New Balance 2002R “Tabi,” which was specially constructed for Salehe Bembury, Taiwanese bespoke shoe store Rifare came to the limelight.
Other collaborations that made headlines were the launch of Nicole McLaughlin’s versatile Diemme shoes, Joe Freshgoods x Vans, Awake NY and ASICS’ latest silhouette, the reveal of Fear of God’s Birkenstock “Los Feliz” Sandals and lastly, Andersson Bell x ASICS GEL-Sonoma 15-50.
